About
‘MOT’ is French for ‘WORD’. The amalgamation of AFTERMOT can be taken literally; “afterwords” – the words left unspoken until afterwards/after the time for them passes.
The first entry of AFTERMOT was written in 2012. Soon after, AFTERMOT became a virtual reserve to store hidden emotions and words left unsaid. As its pieces were usually written during periods when the sun didn’t rise, its core is predominately overcast; although, I’d say, occasionally optimistic (you will find light-hearted pieces between the dusky, tragic spirals). Hidden between these rows of ink, lies a strange sort of comfort – a comfort that formed a mask of strength for me in this masquerade of a world we live in. Hence, its core is also naked – stripped of the facade and painted skins.
I hope you’ll find the thrill of words as I did. If you relate to any of my aftermot, I would love to hear from you, wherever you may be. Lastly, thank you for picking up AFTERMOT and for holding a dream together. I hope you will enjoy the read.
S/N: A portion of the profits from the sale of this book will be donated to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), a cause I hold close to my heart, so thank you, you!
